Craziness of life

A few days ago, I went a bit bonkers and decided to do a good clean on our sensor kitchen garbage bin lid. I was extremely cavalier and allowed several parts to get wet. I don’t know what came over me while this happened. Needless to say, the lid stopped working. Even once it seemed dry, water must have gotten caught in the sensor area because it wasn’t operating at all. Several days passed and I ordered a new bin, which is currently on its way to us. Fast forward to this morning when I went to open the bin to put something in it. The lid was working again and now it works just fine. Still, we have another bin on its way to us. It’s a shame we have an order en route but I am really glad the sensor is back in order.

Also today, the Scientist received a letter from our bank and it’s a rather curious one. The letter said that our online banking payment had gone to an old account number for our credit card and that we should use the newer one. Keep in mind, our number hasn’t changed in five years. Sure enough, it was a different number that has been used in our online banking transfers. But this is the first we’ve heard of it in all these years. It’s been a problem for some time that our payments seem to take ages to be processed and this might be the reason why. I had already made a credit card payment earlier today so I did another one with the corrected information. I’m going to keep an eye on it to see whether this makes a difference on processing.

I think there was another thing that happened that was kind of crazy but now I have forgotten it. :( I guess I will add it later if it comes to me again.

I feel like I spend more and more of my life straightening out interactions with mindless bureaucracy. I suppose it’s just a part of modern life, but it is maddening! It makes me want to go live on a farm or in a cave, but I think the bureaucracy would just follow me there. Sigh…. Anyway, I hear you!
