Good news

A couple of weeks ago I got a call from the car dealership to tell me our car was on a ship on its way to us. It made it all seem so much more real for us instead of a future dream. The date he gave us was around April 19th.

This morning I got another phone call from the dealership to tell me our car is getting here sooner and should probably be here by the end of the month. So exciting! We’re due to go in next week to have our current car valued for trade-in. I don’t suppose it was be a lot due to age and also the paint on the hood is looking bad after the elements have affected it all these years.

Oh cool! What kind of car is it? How old is your old car? My current car is a 2018 model which still seems like it’s new, but I suppose it is five years old now. It replaced a 2006 minivan, so it was really a leap forward into newer car technology. I love having more safety features, but also get frustrated because the designers automated a lot of things to somebody else’s preferences and a different climate than the one I live in, so there are all sorts of conveniences that aren’t actually convenient. But overall I’m happy with the car and glad to have the safety features. Also, my car is a plug-in electric hybrid, which means that most of the time it’s running on battery power, and battery-powered acceleration feels like magic. I didn’t think I cared about a car’s acceleration, but the battery-powered kind is neat!
