Australia is cold
That’s what the headlines have shown lately. Except it’s not really true because here in Perth we’re having something of a heatwave. Today is the first day of winter and it’s supposed to be 26C today, which is almost tropical for this time of year. But it seems the western part of Australia doesn’t count. I remember this happening a couple months ago when it was hot everywhere else but Perth but the story was the country was hot. Meanwhile we were chilling here…literally.
But, you know, climate change is fake news and all….sigh…

26C sounds warm to me!
The similar thing that happened here in Michigan was a few years ago when we had a giant power outage, and all the news media reported it as “New York’s” power outage or “The Northeast’s” power outage. I think that’s because so many journalists are located in New York and Washington DC and so the power outage was happening to them and they were reporting on what was happening locally where they were. But it felt weird to be entirely erased from the story.
