Photo fail

I seem to have lost the momentum I had from the beginning of the month. The camera hasn’t been put away but I’ve managed to miss a few days and I’m well behind getting samples posted for those that I have. So this month has not been a success but I’m not abandoning the cause. My challenge to the self was to get the camera out each day and photograph something and I did pretty well at that. It wasn’t to have photos to post for each day but I seem to have mentally added that requirement into the mix. Anyway, I have been trying to get through photos and will post more soon. I find the processing takes more time than it should because I fix many of them up, often with minor adjustments, only to then delete many of them. Obviously it would be more time-efficient to weed first…

Actually I like the postings about how you and your family are doing more than the photo postings — though the photos were interesting too.

I think sometimes it does make sense to fix up a photo before deleting it. Sometimes you need to fix up a photo to really see it well, so that you can decide if it’s worth keeping. For whatever that’s worth.

Not to worry, I don’t plan to continue the photo challenge postings on this blog for long because they have kind of taken over the place and it doesn’t feel quite right. Probably one of the reasons my challenge lost momentum after twelve days. I still have a couple posts I want to write about the Anzac Day concert from last month and something else that has escaped my brain at the moment. I might catch up with my thought processes eventually. :-D

I had an idea of keeping a separate blog for photo challenges but I wonder if I would manage to maintain that very well. I might settle for a compromise where I post once or twice a month with the challenges here because I’m already uploading many of them to Flickr anyway.

wrt the photo editing/deleting process…what you say makes some sense and I probably will still end up following this sequence much of the time. But I find I often have multiple versions of the same subjects that look very similar. So narrowing that down might be helpful if I can do it before I edit it…or maybe not. :-)
